#SoCaltech: Monica Jinwoo Kang

"My work mostly involves me standing in front of the blackboard all the time. I love it. I write down equations and then stand back and look at them and ponder what they mean or how to change them. The fact that the blackboard is so big helps me think more clearly. My friends stop by and will make comments about how they always find me standing there in front of the blackboard."

—Monica Jinwoo Kang, Sherman Fairchild Postdoctoral Scholar Fellow in Theoretical Physics, studies quantum gravity, a collection of theories that attempt to merge the macroscopic world of gravity with the microscopic world of quantum physics.
